The Spanish Aerobatic championship and the Air Race F1 will be held in LLeida Alguaire

The Spanish Aerobatic Championship (powered aircraft) and the Air Race F1 will be held at the Catalan airport of Lleida-Alguaire (Spain) from the 30th of May to the 1st of June. It will be the first time both events are celebrated together as part of the LLeida Air Challenge which includes air shows, static displays and classic aircrafts exhibitions.

According to the organizer (Aeroports de Catalunya) and the event coordinator (Aeroclub Barcelona Sabadell), Lleida’s Airfield will be used by the Air Race F1 as the official presentation in Europe for this type of air race, where aircraft fly over an oval circuit simultaneously.

Due to the amazing flights both events will display, the organizers are expecting to bring together more than 10,000 assistants during these days.

The Spanish Aerobatic championship starts on Friday 30 and finishes Sunday 1st. It will gather the best pilots of the country. Nonetheless the championship is open to pilots from other different European countries to compete against the Spanish pilots and it will include all the categories from the Primary to the Unlimited.  

In addition, the organizers have planned training flights previous to the competition starting on Tuesday 27th.

There will be hangars available for pilots who are interested in participating so that they can keep the aircraft and the material safe. Furthermore, fuel will be available from Tuesday as well.

Concerning the Air Race, it starts on Saturday 1st of June and finishes Sunday 1st. Pilots from all over the world will race against each other at speeds of over 440kph on a circuit just 2km end to end. Eight planes will be competing and the first aircraft to cross the finishing line wins.

Sponsored pilots and teams will have the opportunity to show their products hiring a static display from the organizers.
